Oh, Be Careful Little Ears is a brief overview of the development of Christian music from both historical and biblical perspectives. Shows why CCM is not biblical, according to Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16, which instruct us to sing "spiritual songs".  According to the Greek, "spiritual" means non-carnal, the opposite of carnal (flesh-pleasing).

Chapter titles include: "The Origins of Unnatural Rhythms"; "Where Have All the Hymns Gone?"; "A Brief History of Christian Music"; "A Word About 'Pop' Music"; "What Difference Does it Make?" and six more.

142 pages; $9.99 plus s & h.

About Kimberly Smith...

BACKGROUND:

Soon after I came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior in the fall of 1982, I began to understand that secular rock music was wrong and I reluctantly switched over to CCM. At that time, I thought CCM was a new revelation from God. Over time, I learned about "the beat" but didn't equate my CCM with "the beat."

My own serious quest for answers about music began in 1996 and resulted in my first book, Oh, Be Careful Little Ears: Contemporary Christian Music...Is That in the Bible?

What began as a concern about "the beat" led me to discover other forms of "carnal" music techniques--all of which were appearing in contemporary Christian music. My personal testimony is related in more detail in the chapter, "Cool Is Not a Fruit of the Spirit" in my  second book--Let Those Who Have Ears to Hear.

My third book, Music and Morals, gives solid proof from science, music and sound researchers, and secular rock artists that music is not amoral. Proponents of contemporary Christian music lack such proof.
